Ten Shillings!..”Note the date”, lost and found.

Lost through time – Found in an old box containing other memorabelia, also a – ‘See the big fish that I caught!!’ photograph.

What stories could this tell you.
1940’s.

Pictures saved for life. She was someone’s little darling.
The currency was still in pounds, shillings and pence.
A time when money was worth something and a million pounds, only an unknown quantity.

A time when Port Elizabeth may have looked like this…….

And Table Mountain was in sepia……

……………..when the world was at war!

Pretoria was a ‘White man’s Kingdom’

That was the time when one little girl went to school each day; tied her hair up with a ribbon and loved the sunshine.
She knew not of a world of wealth, only a country at war. It was the norm!
Her mischeivious eyes made others love her.
Her determination shows in the line of her mouth, no one messed with her!
I’d say she was loved, I hope she was!

Where could she be today?

Right then she was someone’s daughter, niece, sister or cousin.
Now a mother, wife or grandmother?

Happy? I hope she is!
