Perspective – In a Word

A beautiful day yesterday, Dymchurch, Kent.

Words that are so often uttered: “We must get it into perspective!” Be it your life, your job, or to round off a messy argument when no one is winning.  But how does this compare to drawing or painting in perspective?  Or even to this picture taken at Dymchurch?

I loved to draw and paint in perspective at school, it always gave satisfaction at the end, even if left unfinished.  Drawing like this illustrates dimension and depth bringing a flat surface to life.

Perhaps that far away dot (infinity),in the picture illustrates the time of conception; your conception, when your life began, something you personally will never remember, (hopefully!)  The closer and clearer your lines become, the nearer you get to the real picture and place in time, which is here and now.

My five minutes are up now….. add your thoughts in the comments!

One Response to Perspective – In a Word

Sometimes the prompts can get a little mixed up 🙂
Your shot is a perfect example of perspective though as used in drawing.
